Q. How to fix the 'Out of memory error' reported by Genowiz™.
A. In case, if you encounter 'Out of memory error' even though you have enough memory, then you need to change the "Genowiz.lax" file in Genowiz™ installation folder. Open the Genowiz.lax file in any editor. Find the parameter “lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=268435456. This parameter specifies the amount of maximum memory that can be allocated to Genowiz™. The number specifies the memory in bytes. You can edit this value to increase the memory.

Q. How to resolve the error message "Unable to connect 'localhost' at '3310'" reported by Genowiz™.
A. This error message pops up when Genowiz™ unable to start its database server. Please note this error message occurs when you are working with standalone edition or trying to access a database which has come with a standalone version. For trouble shooting click on 'Open Connection' button, which pops-up a Database dialog.

Below are the default connection parameters for standalone edition.
Type = MySQL (Database server vendor)
Server = localhost (The machine on which a MySQL database server is running with Genowiz™ database)
Port = 3310 (The port on which the particular MySQL database server is running, 3306 is default port used by MySQL database server, which also is the default for Genowiz™ client-server edition)
Database Name = genowiz
User Name = root
Do not enter anything in password, unless if you set something for MySQL root user.

Enter the above details and save the connection with a Name, and also set this connection as default one. Try connecting now, on successful connection, a message 'Successfully connected' is displayed. If you face any other problem, check permission on the Genowiz™ installed folder to all users of your system.

This error message also occurs sometimes, if the database server start up gets delayed for few seconds. In this case you can just click on 'Open Connection' button and click Connect button. If you get a message "Connected Successfully!". That means the database server has started. You can close the Database dialog and start working with the software.
