The laboratory rat is an indispensable tool in experimental medicine and drug development, and has made inestimable contributions to human health. It is also useful as a toxicological and neurological model; and serves as a source of primary cell cultures. Rat 30K OciChip™ array contains approximately 30,000 oligos covering NCBI's GenBank IDs and in-house sequencing data from three different rat strains, namely stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRSP), Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY) and Sprague Dawley rats (SD).

The generated sequencing data covers a wide range of biological pathways and allows the regulation of gene expression under different conditions for function and gene clustering. This makes Rat 30K OciChip™ array an ideal tool for identification of disease-relevant genes as well as study the effects of new drugs thus allowing the researcher to analyze 30,000 genes simultaneously.
