Gene Expression
One of the main challenges of Microarray Core Facilities is to manage many Chip Array types in various experimental designs and to store an increasing avalanche of expression data. Diverse conditions in each experiment increase the data points from tens of thousands of measurements for a single array to millions. Furthermore, huge amounts of information are related to microarray data itself — protocols used, sample types used (cell lines, tissues, RNA, blood), labeling dyes used (Cy3, Cy5), as well as the platform specific (Affymetrix, Agilent, CodeLink, etc.) information. Couple RT-qPCR for validating the microarray analysis and for miRNA analysis and a Microarray Core Lab can have one to many platforms to support, each with its own requirements. While Biotracker™ LIMS does not natively support analysis, it can easily output a MIAME/MAGE compliant file to an analytics package like Rosetta Resolver™ and then can re-import the analyzed results so as to accelerate the querying of results.
Biotracker™ has the facility to manage expression data and related information and is Affymetrix GeneChip™ GCOS and Command Console (AGCC) compliant which means that the interface is seamless and out of the box. Biotracker™ supports the integration of the Thermo NanoDrop™ for quantitative OD and the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer for qualitative OD RNA quality analysis. And should you do BAC arrays Biotracker’s dynamic SOP protocol capability can not only create the experimental design, but also the associated workflow and SOP all in one go. So, no longer is an SOP a static document; it becomes a dynamic entity in Biotracker™ should you choose to enable it.
